"Memorial Day"

My daughter requested a red, white and blue bow for my grandbaby for Memorial Day.  I dutifully went off to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics to look for ribbon.  I took pictures of different ribbons and texted them to see what she liked (you see, my daughter's family lives 600 miles away).  And, she has neither store in her small town.  After several texts and maybe a phone call or two, she changed her mind.  She wanted a flower made of patriotic fabric trimmed with ric rac, on an alligator clip (lined).  So, I took more pictures of fabric and texted them.  A decision was made and here is the result.

"Kindle Bag"

I bought a Kindle a few months ago and discovered the covers are expensive.  So, I've been carrying mine around in my purse in a small, heavy-weight shopping bag to keep the screen from getting scratched up.  Night before last, I decided to make a padded cover for it.  So, I grabbed some pretty scrap fabric and went to work.  I embroidered my initial and last name on the inside of the flap.  And, it turned out really cute.  Only thing, I didn't notice til I was finished the fabric says "Happy Valentine's Day" and "Hugs and Kisses"!
